Police and Fire Services

POLICE

In today's society, the police are getting attacked. The fire services are getting denied due to an extreme view of a small group of people.

The police need help more than ever, as many cities have now voted to defunded their police departments. Suppose we continue to allow our police departments to get defunded; in that case, crime will continue to rise, and American lives will be lost. You think COVID has done damage, wait until you don't have police to come to your aid when your house is being robbed or even worse. The assault on our police departments has been ongoing because a few bad officers' actions ruin it for the rest. There are so many great men and women who serve our communities each day and only want to make them better for those who live there.

Most officers want to serve the public and do it effectively. I have spoken to many police officers. They want to have access to funding that will allow them to take more training in domestic situations and handle them in a non-violent way.

I will work to make sure that police departments are funded to a level that will allow the great men and women to have access to the proper training and proper techniques to handle all circumstances that come up. I will ensure each officer will have the right tools to do their jobs and go home to their families safely every day.

Fire Services

Like the police, we see an assault on Fire and EMT Services in the country because of a few select people in groups that don't want excellent services in their communities.

It's dangerous for our men and women who fight fires and go on squad runs each day because they never know what they are going into and don't know what to expect in each scenario. Even so far as not knowing if they are coming home safely.

Fire Services need more funding for equipment and training. Fire and EMS need to have access to better and more sophisticated training and equipment to read fires and squad runs to know what they are going into as they arrive on the scene. Not each fire or squad run is the same.

I will work with the fire departments in Central Ohio to figure out what kind of funding they genuinely need for training and equipment and work in Congress to secure that funding. I will make sure that all citizens have access to these services as they need. People in America deserve to have their properties and lives protected by the great men and women of Fire and EMS.
